Emma Raducanu has been out of action for quite some time now. The former US Open champion had to undergo knee and hand surgery a couple of months ago. Since then, she has missed two slams, including the ongoing Wimbledon, and is unlikely to return anytime soon. However, the Briton was still spotted at Wimbledon for off-court purposes.

While Raducanu’s tennis career might be paused here, she is still attracting enough sponsorship deals. In fact, she was spotted at Wimbledon with her sponsors, probably for shooting. In the meantime, the US Open Champion also bumped into Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge and Emma Raducanu had a brief exchange regarding the latter’s recovery status.

Raducanu gave updates on her injury to the Duchess of Cambridge. She also mentioned how she was spending her time at Wimbledon. The former world number 10 said that she enjoyed clicking selfies with the fans. “It was really fun. Yesterday we were there at 7.30 and it was packed.“, Raducanu said via The Sun.

Middleton then moved on to the important part. She inquired about Raducanu’s fitness, to which Raducanu replied, “It’s rehab as well and light exercises, but not working out yet, which is annoying. I start training in a month.” The Princess of Wales later asked if Raducanu was going to watch any matches at Wimbledon and she replied, “Some of them. I don’t end up watching too many because I feel like it’s a bit fresh right now.”

Middleton seemed very concerned about Raducanu’s injury status. She wishes to see the Briton back on the court soon. After all, they had shared the court not long ago.

Days after Emma Raducanu’s historic US Open triumph, Middleton played tennis with her in South London. They faced off at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton at an event organized by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Youth program.

Her forehand mightily impressed Raducanu and said to Richmond and Twickenham Times, “Her forehand was incredible. I was very impressed. It was a lot of fun to play tennis with the duchess.”
