Chelsea’s Sam Kerr Among Top Contenders for BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year Award

The nominations for the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year award were announced recently, and guess what? Chelsea’s very own star player, Sam Kerr, made it to the list!

You see, Sam had a fantastic season last year, scoring 29 goals in 38 games for Chelsea. That’s a lot of goals! She was also a key player when Australia played in the Women’s World Cup. Even though she got hurt before the tournament, she still managed to come back and help her team reach the semi-finals. Remember that amazing goal she scored against England? Yep, that one got her nominated for the FIFA Puskas Award.

But wait, there’s more! Sam also won some big awards at Chelsea. She was their best player and her teammates thought so too! She won some other cool awards as well, like the one for being the best player in the whole league.

Now, she’s up for another award, the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year. People all around the world can vote for her to win. Let’s all cheer for Sam and hope she takes home this one too!
